This kit comes with 2 hefty straps and an assortment of machine bolts, washers and different sized screws. You may need to buy different hardware for your particular application, but they do provide you a good assortment so that you can probably install it right out of the package.
Also the vendor sent over a 10 page PDF installation book by email. How cool is that?
I have lived in earthquake areas and straps on furniture and TV's is a must have. Also curious children, pets and even adults can accidentally pull over furniture. So many of these mammoth TV's come with tiny TV bases that have no pre-drilled holes for you to bolt it to the TV stand furniture.
Even if you don't live in an earthquake area, a nearby explosion can rock your home and furnishings. I happened to live in an apartment in the Caribbean that had 2 explosions within 1000 feet just a year apart. The first was when a restaurant had a propane malfunction and the kitchen blew up. The second was a gasoline truck that was transferring gasoline when a leak developed in the coupling allowing it to drip on a hot exhaust pipe which started a fire which caused the truck to blow up and several businesses to burn to the ground. The explosion was seen from space. In both cases my apartment shook like an earthquake had hit and things were tumbling down.
These straps are perfect for preventing further damages from falling TV's and furniture, especially around curious children who can get into anything in a hurry and cause mayhem in a nanosecond. If you search the internet for news stories about children killed from falling TV's and furniture, it will break your heart into a million pieces.
This type of strapping is a must-have in today's world of giant electronics. Equally important for tall heavy furniture.
The cute cow included for the door slammer is awesome. You can place it up high enough where you kid can't close their door at all. I would hide the cow so they don't think it's a toy to climb up after. The other side is plain white. This is also useful on a breezy day of open windows to keep doors from slamming around the home.
