I used 2 hibiscus flowers to make tea, set it in the sun a few hours, then I added a squeeze of lemon to make it pink in color.

These are nice big tall cups for hot drinks and soups. They come with a cardboard sleeve for protection and a snug cap. While I typically use the same mug over and over washing it by hand, I got these for my sick neighbors.

Sometimes someone in the neighborhood is sickly or recuperating from surgery. I like to deliver them homemade soup ready to eat. Getting back all my containers again can be problematic. Useful Dining Light For My Patio

This fit both my outdoor umbrella poles.

It can be aimed upwards for ambient lighting or downwards for table lighting. I like that it has 3 settings. One is with just the outer lights, one with the 4 inner lights or all of the lights at once.

Needs 4 AA batteries which are not included, but that's OK, Amazon has great deals on buying  batteries in bulk so I had batteries on hand anyhow.

5 Years Later Still Cooking In It Several Times A Week

This crockpot is an ideal size for smaller households. I actually have two crockpots in two different sizes. I would have three if I had room.

The GOOD News:

I make one pot meals, chili, cornbread, baked potatoes, acorn squash, turkey and then gravy, mac and cheese, dried bean dishes, Mexican casseroles and a long list of other recipes all in this crock pot. I've even made lasagna in it by breaking up the lasagna pasta to layer it in sections and adding an extra cup of water to the sauce so the pasta cooks with the sauce, no need to boil the pasta first.

For making cornbread, I have learned the hard way, to line it with a big hunk of foil first. Grease that up, then pour the cornbread batter in it. Usually it takes about an hour to make cornbread because instead of milk or water,  I usually add a can of cream style corn, 2-3 eggs to fluff it up some plus bacon bits and jalepenos. Once the cornbread is done, just use the foil to lift it from the crockpot. Let it sit up about ten minutes, the foil will then easily peel away from the cornbread sides . It will also  slice beautifully into wedges. The foil will wrap around leftovers.

The only  BAD news about this crockpot is the stainless steel is not high quality, but given the budget friendly pricing, you can 't really expect high quality stainless steel on the outside which doesn't touch the food anyhow.

The other minor problem is the print for the control settings came off after a few gentle washings to clean up the outside. I used 4 self sticking labels to mark Off, Low, High, Warm so I am still using it just fine. One day I will replace the labels with fingernail polish to mark the control settings. I have used fingernail polish on other appliances that needed help with markings. It doesn't wash off like the labels eventually do.

I am very happy this has lasted 5 years and 9 months as I write this. I have put it through a lot of heavy duty use, 3-7 times per week plus it has traveled in my motorhome and gone to quite a few pot luck dinners.

This is terrific for me. I live in a small RV with  tiny refrigerator. I am able to keep this on the shelf and just cool one or two at a time.

It's 100% juice with no crap added. I just wish they sold it in concentrate so the shipping and storage didn't take up so much room.

While the taste is not 100% fresh squeezed, it is of a high quality.

I am so grateful they sell it in a bottle rather than those annoying teensy boxes with the prewrapped straws that create garbage everywhere.

I just wish Tropicana had more to offer in the 100% juice department.

Delightful Ice Trays For RV

These are whimsical ice trays that really work.

Both are about 5 inches square. One makes four jumbo ice cubes, the other makes 4 round spherical ice cubes.

Both come with tight fitting spill-proof lids. You can make ice in your freezer while driving your RV.

The silicone is easy to deal with. It's food grade and super safe. Alternatively the 4 compartment square ice tray can be used for assorted snacks or a special meal. Silicone is safe in the microwave and the oven up to about 400F degrees.

I sort of wish they had included a funnel to fill the round tray. However I discovered after slippily filling mine, that I could place four fingers over the holes and dump out the excess water, so that is pretty easy.

The Magic of Sous Vide

I enjoy cooking and learning new methods of making delectable tasty treats.

When I first heard of Sous Vide I was skeptical about how this was all going to work, yet if the finest restaurants used this method, why not the home chef too?

I ended up with a Kitchen Gizmo Sous Vide machine, then the rest I culled from my kitchen such as a pot of water, zipper food baggies and a spring clamp. Add food and cook!

At the market, I searched for discounted must sale meats. I found these huge Dolly Parton chicken breasts so I came home with those as my first test dish. I made a simple homemade teriyaki sauce with Braggs amino acids, honey, ginger, garlic, orange juice and a splash of wine.

Since each breast was jumbo sized, I used two zipper baggies placing one breast half the sauce in each one. I did the water immersion technique to squeeze out the very last bit of air so each baggie would appear to be vacuum sealed. Then I separated them on the side of the pot of water with a spring clamp to hold them in place.

The idea is to let the Sous Vide machine circulate hot water around the food with out the baggies getting sucked into the little aerator pump.

I set the temperature to 145F per the cooking chart and settled on one hour. At the end of the cooking time, I wasn't satisfied with the results, so I added another half hour. These breasts were mammoth! Matter of fact, I used two plates to serve them at the neighborhood potluck garnished with pineapple chunks.

A dozen neighbors tried the teriyaki chicken and found it moist, tender, and tasty. Some went back for seconds. None of them had heard of Sous Vide but I think they were sold on the concept too after tasting the tender tasty  chicken.

This is a quality light weight aluminum table that is super sturdy assembled.

I have uploaded a video that shows how easy it is to put together.

Assembly is very easy too. Your pull 4 parts out of the storage bag. First set up the legs, then pop in the two side flaps so they fit over the pegs. Next unroll the table top, insert it into the pegs. Now you have a tough table ready for the elements.

If you have put it together correctly, it will be super rugged. The size is a little under 28 inches in height, width and depth. This is a perfect size for generous dining for two. It also makes a great table for outdoor cooking because nothing on the table top can melt. It's so lightweight, you can pick it up and move it to where ever you need it next. It's very handy for outdoor use but looks awesome indoors too.

We do a lot of projects around the motorhome, so having a table that is super easy to move around is very convenient. The aluminum seems to be high quality yet it's the aluminum that makes the table lightweight, easy to set up, move around and store when finished. The slats in the table top have a slight gap allowing rain water to drain right through it. Aluminum does not rust, a huge bonus for campers.

It is pre-assembled with stainless steel locking nuts and bolts. The instructions are in Chinese but the pictures describe what to do.

I gave this 5 sturdy stars for a well made quality table that exceeded my expectations.

Awesome Salad Tossing and Serving Spoons

I  bought these as a wedding gift for a professional guitar player who loves to cook. They said no gifts on the invitation, but knowing they love guitar memorabilia I figured a little gift wouldn't hurt. They loved them!

These are perfect for tossing up a salad and serving with same. They can be used to serve any dish, hot or cold.

They come a bit rough, but can be made beautifully durable by applying mineral oil  in several light coats over several days, before using. Just coat in mineral oil, wipe off excess then wait 24 hours, add another coat and do this for about a week. Well worth the wait! They will be handsome and durable for years to come.

By the way, these are not for the dishwasher. Hand wash and towel dry then let them finish air drying after each use. The mineral oil adds a layer of protection.

They also look great on the wall as kitchen decor. Just use 2 brass coffee mug hooks at the base of each one. They can still be removed for every day use.
