Delightful Ice Trays For RV

These are whimsical ice trays that really work.

Both are about 5 inches square. One makes four jumbo ice cubes, the other makes 4 round spherical ice cubes.

Both come with tight fitting spill-proof lids. You can make ice in your freezer while driving your RV.

The silicone is easy to deal with. It's food grade and super safe. Alternatively the 4 compartment square ice tray can be used for assorted snacks or a special meal. Silicone is safe in the microwave and the oven up to about 400F degrees.

I sort of wish they had included a funnel to fill the round tray. However I discovered after slippily filling mine, that I could place four fingers over the holes and dump out the excess water, so that is pretty easy.

Fantastic Table That Stores In Minimal Space Yet Opens Up To Be Super Sturdy and Convenient

This is a quality light weight aluminum table that is super sturdy assembled.

I have uploaded a video that shows how easy it is to put together.

Assembly is very easy too. Your pull 4 parts out of the storage bag. First set up the legs, then pop in the two side flaps so they fit over the pegs. Next unroll the table top, insert it into the pegs. Now you have a tough table ready for the elements.

If you have put it together correctly, it will be super rugged. The size is a little under 28 inches in height, width and depth. This is a perfect size for generous dining for two. It also makes a great table for outdoor cooking because nothing on the table top can melt. It's so lightweight, you can pick it up and move it to where ever you need it next. It's very handy for outdoor use but looks awesome indoors too.

We do a lot of projects around the motorhome, so having a table that is super easy to move around is very convenient. The aluminum seems to be high quality yet it's the aluminum that makes the table lightweight, easy to set up, move around and store when finished. The slats in the table top have a slight gap allowing rain water to drain right through it. Aluminum does not rust, a huge bonus for campers.

It is pre-assembled with stainless steel locking nuts and bolts. The instructions are in Chinese but the pictures describe what to do.

I gave this 5 sturdy stars for a well made quality table that exceeded my expectations.

A Must Have For Emergency Repairs

J-B Water Weld is MAGIC, it can fix plumbing or oil pan or hot water heaters. It withstands heat. It's easy to use.

The cost at Amazon was half the price of what the hardware store wanted. I know because I called and asked them, while listening to their outrageous price on the phone, I looked it up on Amazon, it was such a bargain I ordered it from Amazon instead.

After much trial and error with other products, J-B Water Weld FIXED my leaking hot water tank in my motorhome without having to rip apart the place to install a new heater. I am now happily using my old heater just fine.

My water tank is stored in an area with a ton of RV electrical wiring. Replacing it would be very costly both for the tank itself (have to buy the entire unit) plus the installation was way beyond my capabilities for sure. Being that RV repairman charge 80-120 per hour, I could see where this could become a ridiculously expensive repair if they took 10-20 hours to reroute and remove all the wiring (that services the rest of the RV)  and plumbing (also servicing the entire RV) long enough to remove the tank, replace and hook the entire mess back up again.

This stuff was a lifesaver. I now have hot water in my RV again, no water leaks, and the cost of the repair was teeny tiny fraction of what replacing the hot water tank would have been.

I've included a picture of my hot water fix. As of this writing, the weld has held up to hot water 24 hour daily use for over 8 months. I expect it will outlast the rig.

I learned about this product when I lived aboard a sailboat. You can use it on cars, RV's sailboats and around the home.

These are bright festive colors that work for our sized pots. Actually I was helping a friend outfit their van camper and they like to cook. I said well measure all your pots then we'll find silicone lids and you can toss out all the space hogging lids from your other pots and pans.

As a bonus, they owned a fry pan with no lid, now the silicone lids makes fast neat work cooking in the fry pan. Do scrambled eggs in half the time with this lid on, ditto for sausage and other dishes. No splatters, just cook and save time. They do get hot and heat from the pan escapes when you peel it back to uncover so use hot pads or tongs to remove the lids and avoid getting burnt.

These are multi functional for other uses, just about any size will make a nice sink plug while padding the sink bottom too. I like the hole in the lip for hanging them on a hook. In a jumbled cabinet, it's easy now to find the right size by the color.

I like they are made of wonderful food grade silicone. They work as lids on pots cooking on the propane gas stove, in the fridge and in the microwave plus they go in the oven as lids on pans. They don't stretch like the advertisement says. Not sure why they listed them as stretch, but they do seal up tightly.

For an RV or tiny home tight on storage these are wonderfully useful. In an RV they can be stowed with noisy pans or dishes so that as you bounce that the highway, these ride quietly and help other noisy kitchenware be quiet too.

Fantastic Portable Rechargeable Lithium Battery Power Bank

This is a fantastic external battery pack. It arrived with a nifty padded zippered carrying case. Included in the case were the instructions, the battery pack and the charging cord.  Video included below.

Just plug into a 110 outlet to charge it up to 100% then you are ready to rock and roll. I've included a video that shows the size with a ruler beside the power bank, I turn it on 12 volt for USB outlets then turn it on AC to power an LED desk lamp. I also used the USB to power up a stereo with a builtin lamp. With this portable battery, you can recharge your cell phones, tablets, laptops. You can power a digital LED or LCD TV if it's under 200 watts (most 32 inches and under are 50 watts or less).

If you have a power outage in your home or RV, you can use this power bank as needed.

Lithium batteries are the best to have because they don't suffer memory problems. In other words, you can recharge them after only using 10% of the battery or recharge after using 80%, it doesn't matter. The battery will top up. Once the battery is fully charged, remember to unplug from the outlet.

This unit will accept a solar charge, though I didn't have a solar panel to test it with, but I love that concept for camping, living off the grid, tiny home lifestyles and just the sheer portability.

I live in a tiny motorhome, so I am outdoors often. This battery bank enables me to have a power source where ever I want it. On the side of the unit is a built-in cooling fan that operates as needed to cool the unit down. It does get warm during use.

Powerfully Gets The Job Done Quickly

This is powerful!

I am living under towering oak trees with Spanish moss dripping down. These trees rain down leaves, acorns, moss plus the nearby pine sends down needles.

I love being outdoors on the patio, but sweeping up the mess is tiresome. It takes an hour to sweep up the patio so naturally it doesn't get done much.

Now that I bought this blower, it takes only 5 minutes every other day to make my patio look beautiful!

It comes without a cord, which is handy. You just plut in whatever sized cord you need. I already owned a heavy orange outdoor cord, so I plopped that in and blew away the leaves, acorns, Spanish moss,  pine needles and dirt.

After a heavy rain, I went outside to enjoy life again, but the picnic table was covered in water. I used the blower to speed dry the table in a few seconds, then I blew the cushions on the chairs to dry them. I had folded the hinged cushions over just before it rained, but still they had some moisture. The 160 mph wind this creates is awesome! My patio was dry and livable in a few minutes.

This motor is LOUD, but it does such fast speedy work, you won't be listening to it for long. I prefer to do batches and turn the motor off between sections to give my ears a break. I had never used a blower before except twice I used  the heavy duty back breaking backpack industrial gas kind that is  asphyxiating to work with.

This one has NO odor at all. It's lightweight and powerful.

Caution though....

I was wearing baggy shorts and holding the blower too close to my side. It kept sucking up my shorts! I held it further from my body and solved that problem.

Also, I had my long hair in braids rather than tied up and oops, it tried to suck up my hair braid! So be careful, don't let this thing near your hair.

 I adore this. It's perfect for my motorhome. I have a back-up camera and a GPS both requiring a 12 volt outlet. On top of that I need USB to keep my MP3 player charged up so I can listen to it through my stereo speakers while bouncing down the highways.

My phone uses USB to stay fully charged. I now have a dash cam that requires USB power to run continuously, so this is just fantastic for upgrading my 1994 motorhome into the 21st century.

When plugged in, it lights up displaying the voltage of your battery right away. Super handy!

It has an on-off switch just above the battery indicator, so you can leave it stuck in the cigarette lighter outlet 24/7. Just turn it off when not in use to save battery power. The red LED lights will go out to let you know it is off.

The male end of the plug is sturdy and fits the cigarette lighter outlet nice and snug. It also has a protective fuse in the plug, so if it stops working, check your fuse.

The base came with 3M double stick tape already applied. Just peel off the protective shield on the tape, then stick on the dash. Clean the dash area with alcohol first, so the adhesion will have a clear clan surface to adhere.

I plugged in everything I typically use while driving, then held the base up in various areas until I found the perfect spot to attach mine.

The picture I have included shows where I  permanently mounted mine on the dash of my 1994 motorhome which is the same dashboard used on Ford E350 vans.

The outer case of this is rubbery with a nice feel. Mine is plain flat black which suits my gray dash just fine. The cord from the male socket to the triple female sockets is heavy duty, nothing flimsy at all. This seems built to last.

I am very pleased with this product and upgrade.

Unique Adjustable Straps Are A Cut Above The Rest

These adjustable  hammock straps are rather ingenious. For starters they're rated for 2,000 pounds.

The straps are reflective at night. The band is simply looped around a tree, then the other end has multiple eyes sewed in so you can decide exactly where to place the carabineer hook  Many campgrounds allow straps on 12 inch diameter or larger trees. Some provide hammock poles, but they are never the exact size you need, especially if you are using trees.

Why waste time trying to remember how to properly tie knots to get the hammock at the perfect height, when you can use these straps to quickly adjust the hammock multiple times until you get it just perfect.

The kit comes complete with 2 adjustable straps, 2 heavy duty carabineers, instructions and a nifty bag to keep it all in between uses.

Fantastic Water Everyone Should Look Into Owning This System

The review below was written February 2014. As of March 2017, I am EXTREMELY pleased with my Berkey's performance. My health has enjoyed a great deal of improvements in many areas. Amazing what purified water can do for one. I do not trust bottled water one bit! It's not regulated and you have zero control over what's in it. The endless water bottles are clogging up our landfills and I see them littered liberally all over our beautiful countryside. 

I personally use a stainless steel water water bottle (flask) that I can refill from home thousands and thousands of times. I also use stainless steel drinking tumblers in my motorhome. Stainless steel is safe, non-toxic, unbreakable and free from BPA. As a bonus, you can store the stainless steel cups in the freezer (where I keep mine) so you always have icy cold drinks.After removing from the freezer,  I shove mine in a cozy cup so they are insulated and don't leave water rings when I set them down. 

My original review of the fantastic Berkey water purifier is posted below. If you don't own this, you aren't living right. Our bodies (and our pets) need good healthy water. Go green and be kind to mother nature. Stop buying bottled water and purify your own for drinking and cooking. Improve the health of you and your pets.

First off, do the math. This system will save you money. The filters in the one I bought last about 6,000 gallons, if I use 2 gallons per day for drinking and cooking, that works out to a filter life of over 8 years. I wanted quality stainless steel and was prepared to return this unit immediately if anything at all was flimsy about it. I have been vagabonding in a mini-motorhome for 4 years, so I need quality products that can stand up to the rigors of travel.

Water quality in the areas I travel varies widely, so this filter system will get a good workout over the years. There are times I camp remotely and the ability to filter water from natural sources that may or may be contaminated is awesome. I'm not expecting a major disaster, but I've lived overseas in a disaster zone and this would have been a coveted treasured item to have had then.

I ordered direct from Amazon because I've been a devoted fan of Amazon for many years. They have always been extremely attentive and prompt on solving issues on returns of faulty products. This one arrived well packed and in excellent shape. The directions are a bit clumsy, they could do so much better, but after a day of reading and rereading, I finally figured it all out.

I was extremely impressed with the stainless steel. It's heavy, shiny, quality stuff built for lifetime use. A super 5 stars on the quality. Follow the instructions carefully, it's a bit fussy to get the filters primed and all set up. At first mine filtered super slow, maybe I didn't prime it right. I kept tossing out the initial water filtration's per the instructions, so that it was almost a week from arrival until I started actually drinking the water. In the interim I continued with my old Brita pitcher. I have no beefs with Brita, they've been good to me and my health for decades, but Berkey is superior so bye bye Brita. Also, no need to buy filters every month, a huge relief. I never liked the plastic pitchers Brita supplies because they always look crazed no matter how delicately you clean and polish them.

After starting on the Berkey water, I am delighted over and over. The taste is HEAVEN ON EARTH! The water quality after filtering is just fantastic. Even though I've been filtering with Brita for 30 years, I could tell a difference in my coffee and green tea as well as plain water drinking.

I did tons of research on water filtration. I can't afford the ridiculous plastic bottled water. 90% or more of the cost goes to the plastic bottle and the rest to the water. I have no idea where or how they bottled that water, the landfills are overflowing with a a zillion water bottles, it's estimated that less than 10% are actually recycled. I volunteer for 5 months per year picking up litter in public parks, the mountain of water bottles I find tossed in the bushes is absolutely astounding. The same people that love nature, seem to also enjoy trashing it. Even crazier are the folks who throw out half full water bottles.

I have my own reusable bottles to take with me hiking and biking, I would never go buy someone else's water, I have to have my own Berkey filtered water. Good clean tasting water is a daily treat. Amazingly, I was having some health issues, they cleared up right away, whether by coincidence or maybe I was lapsing on changing out my Brita filters often enough. Now I don't have to worry for at least 8 more years before buying replacement filters.

I have used Brita water filter pitchers for about 30 years. But I was concerned that I failed to change my filters often enough. I never liked the plastic pitchers, they crazed super easily

So now it's Berkey all the way. I even managed to build my Berkey into a lower cabinet under the sink in the motorhome that is still a foot off the floor due to the air exchanger beneath the cabinet.This is perfect for dispensing the filtered water. I am able to refill the top with the pull-out kitchen faucet but the Berkey is lashed into the cabinet, so that when I go bouncing down the highways, the Berkey won't go dancing.

I bought the Rubbermaid 2 quart clear carafe (from Amazon) for storing filtered water on my counter top since the Berkey is built into my cabinet. That is one good looking carafe with a super tight lid. The opening in the lid is perfect for draining out the filtered Berkey water into the Carafe. The carafe is a beautiful addition to a dinner table or a party where delicious water is desired. I make my ice from the filtered water too, I can add ice to the carafe for dinner parties or for hot days when I am working inside and outside. To me, the carafe makes a perfect addition to the Berkey. Also, it allows me to drain out the Berkey, then refill the top without worry of overflowing.

LOVE MY BERKEY! If the RV is on fire, you will see me run out the door carrying the dog in one hand and the Berkey in the other. He loves the Berkey water in his water bowl too.

Brass Water Quick Connect

5 Years Later, These Are Holding Up Beautifully and Still Work Perfectly

I have been using several sets of these on motorhome since 2012.

Brass is the way to go for serious longevity. These work on any garden hose or potable water hoses for RV's.

I was sick and tired of trying to twist the hose onto my water connection on the motorhome with teflon tape and hoping I got it tight enough. One day I was trying to unhook my water so I could drive the motorhome to go shopping since I don't tow a car. The water connection was on so tight, I couldn't get it off! It was embarrassing and humiliating as I spent hours trying to unscrew my water hose from the motorhome.

Finally a little light came on in my tiny head telling me "Duh, your washing machine uses a quick-connect fitting to hook to the bathroom sink, maybe they make quick-connect for water hoses!"

I went on Amazon and looked at the huge variety of quick connects and decided on the heavy duty brass because I wanted longevity. One the connectors arrived, I used teflon tape to install them on the motorhome home connections and all my hoses which are 25 feet each. Sometimes when I arrive at a camp, I need more than 25 feet, so I can now just quick connect two hoses together.

I can quick connect the water hose to my motorhome home water inlet and it pops off in a nano-second when I am ready to travel.

I also use it inline to quick connect to my water filter. I have another set on a water sprayer, so I can quick connect the water sprayer to wash the RV. This is a super handy item that will save you a load of time and grief over the years.

If you own an RV you need these. If you want something for your sticks and bricks home that is efficient and works quickly for water hoses and faucets, this is the ticket!

These picnic table clamps work really well. I am using 8 of the big ones on a thick heavy 8 foot 8 ton picnic table in the campground to hold down my 10 foot vinyl table cloth.

They fit beautifully, the spring in them seems tough enough because where I am camped we get some strong winds with no notice. Without these clamps I would be losing my table cloth to high winds every few days.

The smaller ones are great for thinner tables like my folding card table size I travel with (in my motorhome) because I am a table type person with lots of projects plus eating (yum!) to do outdoors.

The stainless steel these are made of appealed to me because my old clamps were cheap thin steel that just rusted away and made ugly rusty marks on my table cloth. I hate rust stains. I've also tried plastic clips which  just don't hold up to bright sunshine nor do they hold a strong spring type grip like these do.

The package came with  a dozen smaller clamps and 8 jumbo clamps which are in use and seen in the "after" picnic table pictures. Before I discovered these lovely clamps, I was using big spring loaded clips to hold my table cloth down. While these worked, they make it hard to seat a group of people at the table because they are in the way all the time. (See before picture of picnic table.)

For RVing these clips are a must-have. They also work in backyards as well as indoors if you are using  table cloths inside that slip and slide due to help with cats or children or clumsy adults or all of the above.

So far the stainless steel is holding up beautifully and these picnic table clips have already seen quite a few rains and heavy dew while in use outdoors.

Awesome Lights For Camping or Garden Decor or Mailbox Decor

Beautiful lights for year round use at home or camping or in your RV.

These are quite lovely and can be wrapped around a tree or post with the solar panel positioned in the sun for night time whimsical lighting.

There are dozens of uses for this. While Camping we just left the flowers in a bi blob and used them as the lighted centerpiece for the table. In the morning we moved it to a sunny spot for recharging. We have also clamped it to the RV awning with just little clothespins and it worked beautifully that way too. There is about a 6 foot line between the light and the solar panel, this is handy for placing the solar panel at an optimum location.

This is a super cool idea and the lights are a nice warm white, nothing harsh at all.
