So far, so good. It was larger than old battery but it puts the laptop at a nicer typing angle, so I truly enjoy that. It locked into place just fine.
At first it didn't charge correctly, but the vendor informed me when I inquired:
> 1.Turn off the laptop. > 2.Unplug AC power. > 3.Remove the battery. > 4.Replace AC power. > 5.Turn on laptop,allow OS to boot. > 6.Once logged in to the machine,perform a normal shut donw. > 7.Unplug AC power. > 8.Replace battery > 9.Turn on laptop,allow os to boot.
I did steps 1-9 exactly. Now the battery fully charges and so far is working fine.
Matter of fact, I am using it right now as I type this review to light up my keyboard while I sit outside after dark enjoying the nice weather.
It comes with a charging cord. It easily recharges on any USB port. I hate buying throw away batteries, so this is ideal. What's super cool about this light, is that it has a dimming switch and 21 powerful LED lights.
For instance I am typing in the dark with it on full bright. But for ambiance when finished typing, I can turn it down much lower.
It also has a USB port for emergency charging. I can plug my cell phone into it for quick charge if it starts dying while I am talking outside,something I often do, sit outside at night when talking on the phone.
This light is super handy for camping, RVing and general home use. The end opposite the dimming control has strong magnets in case there is something metallic around to stick it to.
The included velcro strap makes it easy to carry or strap to something. It even fits my arm or leg.
This is a fantastic external battery pack. It arrived with a nifty padded zippered carrying case. Included in the case were the instructions, the battery pack and the charging cord. Video included below.
Just plug into a 110 outlet to charge it up to 100% then you are ready to rock and roll. I've included a video that shows the size with a ruler beside the power bank, I turn it on 12 volt for USB outlets then turn it on AC to power an LED desk lamp. I also used the USB to power up a stereo with a builtin lamp. With this portable battery, you can recharge your cell phones, tablets, laptops. You can power a digital LED or LCD TV if it's under 200 watts (most 32 inches and under are 50 watts or less).
If you have a power outage in your home or RV, you can use this power bank as needed.
Lithium batteries are the best to have because they don't suffer memory problems. In other words, you can recharge them after only using 10% of the battery or recharge after using 80%, it doesn't matter. The battery will top up. Once the battery is fully charged, remember to unplug from the outlet.
This unit will accept a solar charge, though I didn't have a solar panel to test it with, but I love that concept for camping, living off the grid, tiny home lifestyles and just the sheer portability.
I live in a tiny motorhome, so I am outdoors often. This battery bank enables me to have a power source where ever I want it. On the side of the unit is a built-in cooling fan that operates as needed to cool the unit down. It does get warm during use.
As with any sensitive electronic, do not use in the rain or drop it. Handle with care. The padded carrying case that holds everything you need is a very thoughtful included addition.
