This worked right out of the box. Just remove the safety on the battery, then bingo your doorbell works.
I loved playing with the 28 melodies! I like that they included some fun seasonal tunes too. It was hard to make up my mind which of the 28 ding-a-lings to use. Some are quite beautiful.
A bright light also flashes indoors, so if you are hard of hearing, or someone else is, they can see it flash as well as hear it play chimes or play a song intro.
It came with a sticky template. You can screw the template on then stick the bell on that. The top cover of the outside button pops on and off so can replace the battery as needed.
The inside bell just plugs into a regular outlet, no batteries needed.
Many rental places do not come with a doorbell, but now you can have one, that you can take with you when you move.
This is a great idea for motorhomes.
This makes a unique adaptive aid, if you have someone who is fairly independent but doesn't have much of a voice. We stuck this on my friend's wheel chair. He pretty much does his own thing without help but sometimes he gets in a jam and hollers for help but his voice is very weak. Often no one heard him asking for help. Now he can ring the bell and his family or friends is alerted to go see what he needs help with.
This has many uses around the home and office. I like that it had three different volume settings.
