This wooden comb and boar bristle brush is perfect for taming my beard, fur and hair.

The wooden comb is exquisite. Wood is the perfect medium for a comb because it doesn't snap and break hair like plastic does. Wood naturally transfers sebum evenly from the skin and scalp throughout the hair making it look far more luxurious than is possible with plastic combs. Wood does not create static electricity in the beard or hair.
That being said, a wooden comb requires special care. If you must wash it, do so quickly and immediately dry it with a microfiber towel. Do not submerge in water to soak. In most cases, you shouldn't need to wash your wooden comb. U usually you can just remove any loose hair then polish it up with a microfiber towel.
As a wooden comb ages, it may need sprucing up. Just coat it with mineral oil, wait 24 hours for it to soak in, then wipe off any excess. Your comb will look brand new again ready to be the next heirloom.
The brush made of boar bristles is the time honored best for similar reasons. Boar bristles naturally transfer oily sebum throughout the hair coating each hair strand with a very, very small amount of sebum. A boar bristle brush repairs dry hair and adds lustrous shine.
Avoid boar bristle brushing wet hair because this can cause breakage and even more tangles.
Gently detangle hair first preferably with a large gapped wooden comb. When detangling wet or dry hair, start with the ends and gently work your way up towards the roots, detangling in small batches. Yes, I did say start with the ends, not the roots for the best gentle detangling that doesn't break hair (or will break the least amount of hair.)
A boar bristle brush will not detangle and will actually create more tangles if you start with tousled hair or a mess of wet locks.
Brush dry detangled hair from root to tip. This will distribute the sebum evenly and creates shiny hair. With a boar bristle brush, the more you brush, the nicer your hair and beard will look. For these reasons, you will find you do not need to shampoo your beard or hair that often. Let your natural oils do their magic accompanied with a wooden comb and boar bristle brush.
