The Kitchen Addiction Cake Icing Kit includes more than
enough Russian icing tips to decorate your favorite confections to your heart’s
content. Its 33 stainless steel tips are heavy-duty and seem to provide every
conceivable design imaginable; flowers, stars, petals, leaves, etc. The reusable
storage box contains all necessary components except the icing itself. It
doesn’t include a guide for what the tips create so practicing with each tip is
a requirement. The five icing bags included are plastic, so you’ll likely need
more of them with extended use. But the creativity that this product allows is
rather amazing; whether it’s a single color extrusion or a tri-color design, the
Kitchen Addiction kit has it covered. The lack of any instructions or design
explanations makes me think this product is targeted more to the baking
professional. But practicing with each tip and experimenting with design may be
the fun of it.
I give this product 4 stars only because of its lack of
instructions. The packaging and its components are of great quality, to be sure,
but learning and retaining the functions of each of the 33 stainless steel tips
is a challenge for the untrained confectioner. Sure, there’s a learning curve
but I would recommend a simple guide for each of the tip’s designs just to make
learning icing technique a little easier.
